Speak a little French? Well, not really in the case of most Anglophiles.
Americans especially, seem unable, or unwilling to learn even the simplest terms in French. And what they’re missing! It’s appreciated, even when spoken poorly, when the attempt is made to speak even basic greetings, or directions in French when addressing Parisians. Take time to learn a few basics before visiting their beloved city. It will make your visit that much more pleasant.
